For over a hundred years, Exchange Club volunteer efforts have supported the needs of the country and of local communities, making it the country’s oldest American service organization operating exclusively in this country.
Mayor Troup Visits Exchange Club
Quincy Mayor Mike Troup presented the annual State of The City Address to the Club last week stating that “Quincy is Open”. He touched on the strong educational environment, a strong industrial base, a rise in local business, airport improvements, improved infrastructure and a strong health base employing thousands in the city. He also mentioned the City attracted 59 people so far with the “Quincy Calling” plan. He stated that the cost of living in Quincy is 24.5% less than the national average and the housing market is more affordable by 20.5% than the Illinois average and 52% cheaper than the national average.
According to Mayor Troup, the top 5 needs of the City center around continued work on infrastructure, housing, hotels, retail establishment and jobs. Thanks to Erik Dolieslager for his introduction.
